People “Like” An Era of Conscience at Times Square

A beautiful, phenomenal Eastern culture was brought to Times Square in New York by a group of international volunteers with pure, broad smiles as they appeared on the big screen. This group, consisting of Tai Ji Men members from all over the world, used graceful peacock dance, fan dance, and folk dance to share their culture. They also held in their hands banners with a “smiling earth” and the words “An Era of Conscience” on top to promote the movement of “An Era of Conscience.” Their activities were pleasantly exotic and attracted the attention of many passers-by, who surely did not miss their chance to “like” and share such festivities on their social media.
Many spectators took turns taking pictures with this group of cheerful beautiful dancers, and their dances were so eye-catching that many media groups conducted interviews with them. The group of volunteers for the movement of “An Era of Conscience” mainly consisted of young members of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy, the Federation of World Peace and Love(FOWPAL), and the Association of World Citizens, NGO in consultative status with ECOSOC and associated with the UN DPI. They came from different backgrounds such as European, Burmese, and Asian and from all walks of life such as lawyer, accountant, architect, engineer, musician, office worker, student, etc. All of them had to make time and take money out of their own pockets to fly to New York and spread the message about “An Era of Conscience” to the NGO delegates and elite leaders from across the globe during the 65th Annual UN DPI/NGO Conference. Additionally, they have started a series of events to awaken people’s conscience in various places in New York, featuring energetic music and dance that convey the idea behind “An Era of Conscience.”

“The more good deeds I do, the happier I feel,” said these volunteers despite that fact that they went to many places during the day and had little time to sleep at night. Doing the volunteer work didn’t tire them out; on the contrary, they felt increasingly happy through doing good deeds, and their smiles radiated the cheerful energy of youth. Times Square is most famous for its New Year countdown. Millions of people have visited the place to celebrate New Year and made their wishes for the coming year. “Everyone can be a leader of conscience, and changing the world begins with changing oneself.” The group of volunteers also shared their common wish: they hope through the movement of “An Era of Conscience,” more people can say good words, do good deeds, and exercise their positive influences to create a world of love and peace. We cordially invite you to participate in the global endorsement for the “Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience.” Read the declaration, and endorse it. Doing so will help inspire more people to speak kind words and do good deeds, enabling future generations to live in a better environment of peace and sustainability.
